When uploading a more complex animation with lot’s of particles to youtube, even when it is fullHD 1920×1080, the end result on youtube looks quite awful. My final animation looks perfect when watched on the computer, but after youtube’s conversion it all falls apart. Vimeo does a better job converting these animations, but still quite ugly sometimes.

Do you have any ideas on how to improve this, or how to get youtube and vimeo to display these videos properly?

    thank you very much!

    Robi

ps: We have a plus vimeo account, which allows highest video quality (1080p)

It’s not the resolution. It’s about the bitrate.

I used a very high bitrate. Vimeo recommends 10-20kbit/sec at a 1080p video and I used 20. So that should be fine.
