YouTube Prep and Video Length Estimate
I’m a FCP user and I’ve been asked to prepare videos for YouTube. I’ve also been asked how long the videos posted to YouTube can be in length.
I’ve been informed that the videos posted to YouTube are not limited by length but by a file size of no greater than 20MB.
Please advise on any suggestions regarding preparing a video for YouTube and considering the 20 MB limitation, what the longest video could be to stay within that file size limitation.

Wrong, 20MB limit is not true.

Assuming you’re starting with decent quality HD videos that aren’t much more than 5 mins-
If you create 1280×720 h.264 videos with a data rate of 10,000 kbps, you’ll have great looking videos. I wouldn’t go higher than 300-400 MBs. The 20 mb limit is only for email.
