  • Youtube errors – edit lists, indexes at end.

Things have been going along fine lately with YouTube uploads, but now I have been shooting with the Canon T2i, creating MOV files. I drag them onto the timeline, things seem to go along fine. I then render and upload to YouTube, just like always. I render them out as Sony AVC Template Internet 16:9 HD 30p.

    I’m getting the error messages:

The video you uploaded has edit lists. There is a possibility of Audio/Video sync issues to occur. Please see this article for more information.

    and

The MOV/MP4 file you uploaded contains the index at the end. We prefer you flatten the file before uploading so that the index is in the front of the file. See this article for more information.”

And there is an article for Final Cut Pro users to use.

What’s possibly causing this, and how to I fix it? The video seems to render fine on YouTube, after all this error code stuff. Should I be using some other rendering choice with .MOV primary material? Should I be transcoding to AVI, since I can before editing?

    Thanks in advance

I am getting the same “The MOV/MP4 file you uploaded contains the index at the end.”

It just started since youtube has been updating things.

It doesn’t seem to make any difference though.

Sorry no help. Just wanted to let you know that I’m getting the same error.

On the other Vegas board where I also posted this, the answer appeared to be “ignore this”. So I will for now. Appears to be a Youtube problem, and not something inherently wrong with the Vegas render. Case closed, but would like to know if anyone finds out the ‘reason’ this error is thrown on Youtube.

I can’t give a reason but for me the error does not show up anymore.
