ok I have been doing a few vids with Final cut and putting them on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/wrbigrob it took me ages to get Eyetv to export in the right format, and over my last few vids I have this down to a T.

I had been doing then in 720hd and all is well.

my last vid I decided to up the resolution to 1080, and that vid went up fine. now I have a new vid which I have spent ages editing, and rendering, it’s about 4.5 gb and has been sat in my compressor queue for about a day and a half lol……

    is this normal?
Should I have stayed at 720hd?
I have 16gb or ram in my macpro, Final cut seems to use about 2 or 2.5, is there a way to allocate more? And is there also a way to allocate to Compressor?

Sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance for any help given…..

Run it through MPEG Streamclip, Adobe Media Encoder or another app

Ok so last night I set up the system as a 16 processor cluster, and it smashed the work, still took a little while but was done in an evening. it did seem to upload to youtube at 720 rather than 1080 but I am getting there…. 🙂

Youtube also processes in batches. Sometimes if you upload a 1080 file, it will process 320, 480, 720, and THEN 1080. It can take over a day to do so.
