I have a client who has two 50 minute Docs he needs color corrected. He’s cutting in Premiere. The footage is a mix of mostly H.264 and a little Prores. I need to be able to media manage this project and export an XML so that I can give him an XML of the graded footage. The inherent problem is that Premiere can’t trim H264 footage and Davinci can’t read that file type. I think I have created a work around and want to know if this sounds right.

    1. Media manage the sequence using Project manager in Premiere and choosing the Copy Files option. Export XML.

    2. Transfer the media to my drive, then by using 7toX import the XML into FCPX. Transcode all H.264 to an optimized format(prores). Export the optimized sequence back to Premiere.

    3. Use Media manager to Trim project. Deleting all unused media then Export XML to Resolve.

    4. Roundtrip back to Premiere for Finish.

    What do you think?
