February 21, 2009 at 7:46 pmAh yes, I forgot it’s now on Windows. I need to do a side-by-side with Carbon Coder.
It’s a shame that Episode Engine is unlikely to be ported over to the PC….or maybe, hopefully, I’m wrong?

I think Telestream feels that Engine will compete with FlipFactory on the Windows side. I’ve asked them about this too. I can’t help but think that’ll have to change someday but it may be awhile. As Episode Desktop gains Windows market share as facilities grow they’re going to want to expand with a familiar product feature set. That may be a couple of years off though. Just my very subjective opinion or wishful thinking.

Yes, exactly what I was getting at, but Flip is simply too expensive, good as it is. Carbon Server is gaining a lot of ground and being taken on by a wide and serious customer base. Telestream could be a very serious competitor to Rhozet but they can’t hang around.

February 23, 2009 at 3:05 amFor VP6 FLV, Sorenson Squeeze or Telestream FlipFactory.
For h.264 or WMV, Telestream Episode.—
