What are YOUR favorite customizations of Final Cut Studio? What’s the best way to set those up? I am setting up a new system and it’s the perfect time to look for all the insight everyone of you has. Thanks!!! ~David

    Hi David,

Have you read Dustin Lau’s article? It’s a good place to start for some tips on keyboard shortcuts.

I also like using a Wacom tablet … especially for the Macro keys. They can be huge timesavers for repetitive tasks.

I personally don’t do /that/ much “customization” … just a couple favourite window layouts and the odd keyboard shortcut (although most commands and tools already have shortcuts that work fine for me).

I have set up my “+” key (just to the right of my 6 key) to zoom in on my time line and my “-” key to zoom out.
I have also set up my “=” key (Above my the #8 key on the far right) with the “apply normalization gain” command as well as setting up my audio transition to “command-Q” because “option-command-t” just wasn’t working for me.
I found that I was constantly using these 4 commands while roughing out my time lines and they really streamlined my work-flow.

Wacom tablets are brilliant for repetitive keystrokes.

I’m doing a short video on that when I have the time.

Will put the link up when it’s done.
