Yosemite Update – OS X 10.10.3

Apple also released a new version of iOS today, so don’t make assumptions that anything they do per Yosemite has anything to do with FCP X.

And, whatever you do, don’t even think about upgrading or updating your IS without first cloning your working hard drive – many here have been hosed by Yosemite and/or bad drivers because they rushed to push the “all too easy to push button” that Apple sends to their desktop, before testing with Pro Apps.

As reluctant as I am to change stable and productive systems with the newest OS, I was surprised when DR released his new color grading plug-in for FCPX for Yosemite users only. I emailed him and he responded that it was because of development costs for previous OS and that the majority of X editors polled were on Yosemite.

Really…the majority of pro users of FCPX are on Yosemite?

It may well be that the majority of X users are on Yosemite, but if you also use Adobe apps with Cuda, better beware of Yosemite and the latest Cuda drivers.
