Yet another ‘final render of large project’ question
Hi everyone. Regular lurker but first poster here.
I know this has been touched upon a zillion times, so please bear with me 😉
I’m using Vegas Pro 13 for the first time and have a reasonably large project going. I’ve used Vegas 8 a little before and a host of audio editing software, so though i can find my way around i’m a newb.
I have so far ran into pretty much most problems everyone else does out there, but managed to get past them mainly by reading these forums, however after researching through i’m still not too clear on my best course of action.
So the issue is. I have a 12 minute video composed of 5 vegas projects and a laptop which is not exactly a powerhouse (3rd gen i5, 4gb RAM, dual intel/AMD graphics, W7).
Each project/section i worked on to a length at which the PC began to limp (dissapearing video/audio, stuttering, etc.) and been ignoring the inevitable until now. It’s basically time to do the final render and i’m trying to find the way for it to work out best.
I’ve tried nesting the projects but by the time i import the 4th everything goes tits up, so that won’t work. I suppose my best option is to render each section and put them together after, and that’s where my inquire lies.
Am i right assuming that rendering everything twice is my best option? I’m doing it with mxf 422 50cbr, which i read it gives “best” results, but obviously files are rather large. Am i wasting my time and the computer be unable to work with 5 clips of 2gb each when i’m done pre-rendering?
Any advice i could do with other than ‘get a decent’ computer?
Thanks all
P.s. Project(s) are set at 1080 30p which is what most clips are, a combination of mainly mp4 and a few mov. Final render will be Main Concept mp4 @720.
