If I put a 4×3 photograph or even footage for that matter, in to my DVCPRO HD Sequence and simply “stretch” the image, without distorting it all the way to fill the 16×9 area, I’m fine, right? I understand it will cause some grain and such, but in this case it doesnt matter.

I promise, it will not cause your FCP system to self-destruct.

    Thanks, I can’t stop worrying now…
My aspect ratio will be fine, doing it this way, correct?

It should be just fine. Why don’t you just do a test and settle it for your own eyes!

    Nothing beats seeing is believing!

Instead of dragging corners, go into the “Motion” tab for that file and control the size using the “Scale” slider.

That way you can make it any size you want with NO CHANCE of the ratio being distorted.

yeah thank you, I just didn’t have footage yet. Now I do, and that’s exactly what I’m doing.
