Downloading my trial now, will report with the latest developments. I just know I’m going to have to upgrade my graphics card or something.

I hate this. Vegas Movie Studio 13 would never finish downloading when it’s installing, and Pro 13 is doing the same exact thing. I could never get Movie Studio 13 working (and I won a free copy of it), and now the same thing. It says to check my internet connection because it failed to finish at what looks like 99% on the status bar of downloading Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0, but of course my internet connection is FINE.

I’m better off buying a new computer and moving than trying to deal with Sony to get it working.

Ok, I downloaded Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework standalone, which let me install Pro 13. And I had to uninstall Vegasaur (will any version of Vegasaur work with Pro 13)?

Also, I have this hideously obnoxious “Created by Sony Vegas Pro” sort of picture in picture appearing halfway through every video event in the Pro 13 trial. What the hell is Sony thinking, and how do I remove this?

Apparently, it’s just part of the trial version that Sony never mentions anywhere to their loyal, longtime customers, so they at least know what it is.

I tried to find at least one new feature in Vegas 13 that would be useful for me. Unfortunately, I couldn’t. No reasons to upgrade for me. Will continue to use Vegas 12 Pro.

Previewing DSLR footage is a lot smoother than Vegas 11. That’s all I’m noticing. And I’m going to try editing 4k video from the Panasonic GH4 on it.

I test rendered some 4k footage from the Panasonic GH4. The footage was a little stuttery on the timeline but it all worked fine and rendered out well.

Anyone know if Cineform works with Vegas 13?

Thanks Ralph for the promo code. I never get the upgrade offer emails. The last time I went from V11 to V12 I had to call the US as Sony Australia don’t/will not honour my upgrade as I purchased it online from the US. Software direct from the US is so-o-o much cheaper than buying it locally.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 12 (x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

[Angelo Mike] “Anyone know if Cineform works with Vegas 13?”

People who are using the free GoPro Studio said that they had to uninstall it, install Vegas Pro 13.0 and then re-install GoPro Studio otherwise Vegas Pro 13.0 would crash when loading. I tested this and installed GoPro Studio on a fresh install of Windows 8.1, and it crashed Vegas Pro 13.0 when installed.

I’m using CineForm NeoScene and everything is working fine. I still have the problem with the line on the right side of the video unless you use Best (Full) preview, but that was a Vegas Pro 12.0 issue as well.
