    Hey all,

We shot a bunch of P2 footage today that we’re trying to pull into FCP (v 5.1.4). Most of the footage comes in fine, but about 1/5 of our footage gets held up in the Import P2 window with a red exclamation icon with an error that reads “No Data.” It seems that people have had this error before (see link below), and have only been able to fix it by using FCP 5.1.1 (which we REALLY would rather not set all our systems back to, as we are in the middle of post…)

    https://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_read_thread.cgi?forumid=8&postid=908974&univpostid=908974

Has anyone found a fix for this (I’m sort of expecting you to say FCP v6…but hopefully not)? We’ve made backups of the footage from the P2 cards on our HDD, and thus have already cleared the P2 cards to keep shooting.

Thanks in advance for any help, and for possibly restoring our faith in P2…which is currently gone.

    All the best,

    Ben

Did you turn off the REMOVE PULLDOWN ON IMPORT option? That is what had me going for MONTHS.

Shane! Thanks for the IMMEDIATE response! You’re amazing.

Um… should we or shouldn’t we have it checked?

    Thanks,

    Ben

…and by the way, that worked perfectly…shouldn’t have written back before posting I guess. Thanks SO much.

Why would some clips work with that on and some not? They were all recorded in the exact same format.

    Thanks again,

    Ben

You got me…some bug. I hear it was fixed in FCP 6. I gotta test it when I get it.

Funny thing is that JeremyG told me to do this a WHILE back, and I ignored him. HA!

    Shane-

    Thanks again for you help.

Also, do you have any advice about converting 720p60 (59.94) footage to 1080i60 (29.97)? We have been getting duplicate frames when we export through the batch export or through QT conversion. Thanks.

    I’d try Compressor.

I had the same issue… Thanks for solving the problem for me. One question… When I turn off the Remove Advanced Pull down and Duplicate Frames options in the import setting, does it negatively affect the footage? Meaning, is it better to leave it on for footage that is accepted with it on and to shut it off only for those that are not accepted with it on? Or just leave it off all the time?

    Thanks in Advance…

    Best,

    Hans
