    I know there are probably better places to ask but as I wish to use After Effects (and premire pro) quite a lot, I figured I may as well ask you guys.

    I recently won a Sony Vaio FZ21s. Except now it’s arrived its apparently a CR31S/w. Having checked it has a firewire port (Would have complained loudly if not 🙂 ) I figured I may as well compare the other specs and am wondering if its worth caring about?

    The specs here and here, show the FZ as generally better, but will it make a significant difference in using AE/PP? As far as I can tell both the ATI® Mobility Radeon™ X2300 card and the NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GS are both supported, but is one much better then the other? The processor equally seems lower in the CR but not by all that much so would I really notice it?

    I’m just trying to weigh up whether it’s worth complaining about; I don’t have need for Blu-Ray and if there’s not much of a performance increase then I’m inclined to just stick with this one as its already here. (No idea if they’d replace it anyway, I’ve still got a new free laptop and it does seem kinda rude to object to a prize :D)

    Any advice/thoughts on the compatibility/running of CS3 from either machine would be good, who knew winning stuff was so much hassle?

    I don’t think there’s a huge difference, although if I were you I would complain on principle. Even if nobody is willing to replace your laptop, they may be willing to give you some free RAM or other such upgrades. See what you can get out of it. If you’re promised one thing and delivered another you deserve to be compensated… unless what you get is better (;
