xvid crashes premiere pro
how can i import an avi that has the xvid codec to premiere pro…the file crashes the program…i have set up a custom project to match fram rate
any help would be great

xvid is a highly compressed codec and Premiere Pro is not too fond of working with excessively compressed files.

you can use divx free version to decompress your xvid stuff. when you compress you avi in xvid choose fourCC divx. You will have a xvid video but divx will decompress the video (which works better on ppro).
i tried this with the version 5 of divx. I don’t know how it will react with the V6
