I’m on an Apple and trying to get a video to work on a Sunpak picture frame. The client says a video with the Xvid codec works. Is there a similar codec that ‘should’ work since I can’t figure out how to compress to Xvid on an Apple for cheap?

For example, will a MPEG-4 (FFmpeg) file be similar enough to Xvid? Or anything else?

More info: The Sunpak doesn’t have any documentation, it just says it will play “MPEG-2, MPEG-1, MPEG”. I tried MPEG-2 using compressor and it freezes up with the lowest Compressor settings and an extremely small file size/bit rate. The client can play a 2 hour movie with an Xvid compression and it won’t ever freeze. Arrgh. I don’t have the Sunpak with me to test out MPEG-4 (FFmpeg). Episode looks like it will compress to Xvid on an apple, but it’s $500 so that’s not an option. Trial version is limited to 20 seconds.

    Thanks for any help!
