    Hi Folks,

I have a client that want’s me to online a show for him on my MC1000xl. He is in the process of putting together a system to offline it. He is looking at XpressDV and XpressPRO, any advantage to having XpressPRO for the offline? or will XpressDV do fine? He will be dealing strictly in a DV world shooting with a DVX100A. I plan to redig the footage into my MC via SDI through an AJ-SD93 for the final conform.

    Thanks in advance,

The difference would be wheehr hew wants to shoot 24p and edit at native 24p. If that’s the case, then XPress Pro. Keep in mind that the MC line only knows about NORMAL pulldown and only the recent Xpress Pro versions can deal with 240 NORNAL capture directly over FireWire.

If working at 30i, then either Xpress DV or XPress Pro will work.

No advantage I can see except multicam… And HD is more stable… And it’s not that much more (I wouldn’t imagine)….

Thanks for the input. The project is in 30i so no worries there. I would agree that it’s not much more for PRO but this guy is very budget conscious.

    Thanks again,

Warning – Xpress DV is no longer covered by Avid Tech Support. Only Pro with Mojo.

    Last I herd, anyhoo.

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for the input but as I have yet to work in 24p would you mind expondig a little on the diference between normal 24p puldown and 240 normal? I am assumng that the 240 stuff is akin to the 24pA that the DVX100A shoots?

A link with the info would work just as well if you don’t have the time to type.

    Thanks in advance,
