Xpress Pro upgrade and my dongle
I can’t determine from the readme file whether I need a dongle update when upgrading from Xpress Pro HD 5.2.1 to 5.6.1. But I’ve installed the upgrade and it won’t run. Tells me the system isn’t registered for the software.
So I go to the dongle upgrade site at avid.com and I think it tells me I need a dongle update. But the page requires a serial number from the box…. which, alas, doesn’t come when the update when you download it.
I’m sure I’m missing something here. Can anybody point me in the correct direction?

The upgrade from 5.2 to 5.6.1 is not free…only upgrades from 5.5.x to 5.6.1 are. You’ll need to buy an upgrade from the store ($50), included in the receipt will be the upgrade key to generate your dongle updater file to update your dongle, which will allow you to run the upgrade you have already installed.
