Not that I know of. May I ask why?

I don’t utilize the xmp file. I work at a TV station and I have to encode dozens of mpeg2’s a day. It just gets annoying having to waste time deleting the xmps when I have no use for them.

I’m in the same boat. I spend unnecessary time deleting these. Premiere and Media Encoder both create them.

Anyone know how to turn off this function?

    Solution found…

In File>Export>Media select METADATA at the bottom of the screen

    Under Export Options, select NONE.

    Done.

Also, you’ll want to go to Edit>Preferences>Media and UNCHECK Write XMP ID to Files on Import & UNCHECK Enable Clip and XMP Metadata Linking.
