    Hi guys,,
trying to get a project created in ver. 6.01 (from intelMacPro) to open in ver. 5.14 on a powerbook G4.

project contains no special plugins or complicated effects or transitions, and consists of 4 DVNTSC .mov files

I media managed the project onto an external hardrive, then, from the media managed project, exported XML versions 3 and 4. I then ejected the external HD from the MacPro, plugged it into my MBP running 6.01 and tested both of the XML files to make sure the project would launch from them,, and they did no problem.

Then sent off the drive to the guy running ver 5.14.
When the guy with 5.14 tries to open the XML Final Cut starts to launch, then he gets a dialogue box that asks for a translation file,, and requires him to locate the translation file for the launch to continue. there is no translation file,, so the project fails to open.
Where is this,,, what is this???

Will try to export XML ver1 and 2 next to see if they solve the problem, but wont be on the machine till tomorrow. Will either XML ver. 1 or 2 remedy this?? or is this another issue all together?? I’ve exported xml’s before for people running older versions and never came across this before.

I doubt it’s an Intel/PowerPC conflict.. or is it?!?

Thanks for any help on this,,

    cheers,

    Colin

Try the older XML versions. They should not contain anything specific to FCP 6.01.
