XML Round trip in Resolve
Hi everybody I’m hoping to pick up lots of useful tips on this steep learning curve I have set myself. Perhaps one day I can return the favour.
So I’m using cinestyle profile and trying to get a good result in FCPX but with no s curve or the ability to apply LUTs it became very frustrating. I came across an article by the Desktop Video Guy https://desktopvideoguy.com/post/16387059769/technicolor-cinestyle-in-davinci-resolve
I decided to give this a go exporting xml applying a LUT in DaVinci Resolve and reimporting into FCPX. This worked great as soon as I applied the LUT in Redsolve I was blown away by the quality of the image. However when I imported back to FCPX its quality noticeably dropped. On further examination I discovered that the problem is in the exporting from FCPX and importing into Resolve. If I bring up the shoot in FCPX alongside Resolve there is a definite difference in the two images and this is before I do anything in Resolve. Now I’m questioning which is right. Any help would be great.Cheers John

Interesting. Dose this make it a Resolve issue then?
