    Hey everyone,

I’m trying to set up a good proxy workflow for some of the shows my company produces, and we keep having difficulty relinking our XML files to the original footage once we’ve edited the proxies. Here’s the rundown:

People are editing the proxy files on laptops using Premiere CC’s multicam feature. This part works just fine. We experimented with exporting EDLs, but those were leaving mysterious gaps in our footage upon relinking, so we moved to XML.

We’re flattening our multicam before exporting the XML.

When we bring the XML file to our workstation, with the original footage, and relink this footage, then one of the two angles we’re using always comes unhinged by a fixed amount; for instance, every clip of a certain angle will be offset by 7 seconds and 9 frames, or some seemingly random value, and it’ll be persistent across all the clips.

If the video track is still attached to its in-camera audio track, then both of these are shifted in some way.

It may be worth noting that we’re using Blackmagic Production Cameras, which use time-of-day timecode. However, we get the same issue whether select select “Align Timecode” or not upon linking the media.

I’m trying to think of any other information that could be useful… The issue occurs regardless of how many audio/video tracks are in the sequence… It occurs when we aren’t using multicam (we tested this)… The frame rates match between the original clips, proxy clips and sequences, so it isn’t a drift issue… I’m stumped. I’ll be deeply grateful to anybody who can help me out! I’m happy to provide more info about the problems, if you feel like I left anything out.
