Hi all, it’s been a while since I posted but hoping someone else might have experienced this. I don’t know if it’s a problem in Resolve or with my XML. When I opened this project I imported all the R3D media separately and then imported the XML. When on my master timeline I can see my clips as thumbnails and in my monitor output, but when I go to my XML timeline, monitor output goes black. The first time it happened I also discovered multiple video tracks and wondered if that might be part of the problem. I had my client send a new XML, which he says had one video track only, but the same issues have come up, including multiple tracks (the black or red thumbnails are FX shots I’ll do later).

I searched for a thread with a similar problem but the others were different enough that I decided to post a new one. This is what comes up on my XML timeline.

I’ve done several Red projects recently. Though I don’t have a Red Rocket card I haven’t had any problems grading or playing back (other than it being slow). If I load another project none of these problems come up, so that’s why I suspect it may be something in the XML, but I wanted to ask just in case anyone here had come across this issue and solved it. Thanks!

    I’m using Resolve 9.1.1
    Early 2009 8 core 2.26 Mac
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680
    Decklink HD Extreme 3D+
    OSX 10.8.5

First I would move up to 9.1.6 if not v10
What is the clip on track 5 over the whole sequence?
Try turning off all tracks except v1 in resolve

Thank you, Paul! It looks like track 5 was a 2:35 matte and the other tracks are VFX shots I won’t get til layer. Once I turned off the matte everything was there. I was looking right past the easy fix. I appreciate your pointing me in the right direction.

BTW, I plan on going to V10 once I finish this project. I’m just wary about jumping in right before a new project.
