XLH1 tape playback
It appears you can only play an HDV tape recorded from a XLH1 from the camera! No dubbing house has been able to playback the tapes I’ve brought them. That can’t be true. Is there any deck that’ll play them?

Currently you can only use the camera.

Welcome to the wonderful world of HDV! As you’ve just discovered the format’s only real standard between manufacturers is that they all use mini DV tape. How they push the mpeg codec to get the video to fit on that tape is pretty much unique to each company making HDV cameras.
