    Hi all,

Checking to see if anyone has come across a problem a client of mine is having. He is capturing footage shot 24F from a Canon XLH1 (via HD-SDI/with analog audio thru a Kona LH) to FCP 5.0.4. The audio and video are out of sync by 2 frames. Any ideas would be most welcome.

    Thanks,

    Virge

He is capturing HD-SDI to the DVCPRO HD codec. In case that makes a difference.

Is audio ahead or behind? If ahead, then an in line delay is possible. Otherwise resync the clips after capture by slipping audio. I have had a similar issue capturing off a Pro 110HD Panasonic deck. The editor slipped sync and then (I think) made sub clips after.

The audio is ahead of the video, again by 2 frames.

We are also having audio sync issues trying to use our Canon XL H1 camera with our FCPs. From camera, we use Convergent Design LE box, and take firewire to RSS for deck control with FCP. The SDI signal from the Convergent Box then has the audio imbedded and that goes thru our KONA2 K-box into FCP into a sequence set for DVCPRO HD or sometimes 1080i uncompressed. Is there any way to correct for the audio sync issue without having to slip the audio in the timeline?
