  • XL2 Mic on Boom?

My camera has an on board shotgun mic that I want to use on a boom
since I haven’t got the money to buy a nice new one.
The issue is I want to plug it into, ideally, my Zoom H2 sound
    recorder 3.5TRS socket.
My other option is on my Camera (Canon XL2) in its original socket,
or the xlrs on the back. But for ease of movement I want separate
    sound.
The issue is the mic has a plug with two Jacks 1cm apart. one is a
3.5 TRS the other appears to be a 2.5 TS. On the mic it says
    Electret condenser stereo mic.

Is one for phantom power? therefore making it impossible to find an
extension cable and adapter for? or is one stereo and the other mono,
meaning I can just use a TRS extension cable for my jack of choice.

also? Do you think I’m going to have sound quality issues doing this?

My H2 isnt powerful enough to put on a boom, and the xl2s mic is to
far away when it on the camera.
