A couple of times, I have needed to take an analog source (Hi8, VHS, etc…) and digitize them for editing in FCP. With my DVX100, I can simply input the analog source to the camera via S-video/RCA while at the same time hooking my camera via firewire to the edit system and capture the analog video that is passing through the camera in real time. However, when I try to do this with the XL2, I have not been succesful. I have had to record the anlog video to minidv tape, and then capture the video. Obviously this takes twice as much time and it sucks up extra tape stock. Does anybody know how/or if you can do this with the XL2 in one pass?
