    hi.
i would be very thankful for the solution of the following problem that i have:

when watching captured video, there’s a purple line on the right side of the screen.
its’a a thin, vertical line, from top to bottom, very precise one; not distorted, blurred or anything like.
it appears on the right side of image. kind of marking the beggining of black end.
happens with both 4:3 and 16:9.

i’ve cleaned the head, tried different tapes, capturing applications and players.
    problem remains.

    anybody knows anything?

    thank you!

Basically, that was an issue of the older XL1. This was resolved with the XL1s, which replaced the XL1.

You can always crop it out when you encode your final output. In any case, it will never show up on a standard NTSC monitor as stndard definition NTSC video siplay is 640×480 (and not 720×480).

Let us know if you have any other questions, ok?

    Keep in touch,

    all true that you said.
neither does it appear on PAL as purple line except on some computers.
purple is irrelevant, that’s just some PC’s giving it.
basically, it’s a greyish line inside the grey line XL1 gives on both sides of the frame.

what i’m interested in is what has happened inside the XL1 itself?
    since it wasn’t there before.
it’s not the head cos i’ve tried direct capture (XL1 to PC) and it’s the same thing.

i know it’s not THE biggest problem, but would like to little bit more about it and get rid of it, if possible.

if know something more, please let me know!

    thank you!

    appreciate it very much.
