    Hello.

I need a little help in a hurray. I find I’m going to have to work with the MA 100 Microphone adapter. I’ve managed to borrow one and am now trying to make sure I fully understand it. What’s got me confused is the mini-jack that emerges along with two RCA plugs from the adapter. I’ve checked the back of my XL1 and see that above the two RCA inputs there is a small “DC out terminal”, or so it’s described in the manual without any explanation. It would seem the mini-jack would fit in here. Is that so? If so could someone explain to me what it is doing? It makes no intuitive sense to me that the adapter would need some DC power from the camera’s battery.

    Thanks in advance.

    John
