..the tape was recorded at? Is there a place to get that info on the camera? I am having major issues log and capture from fcp 6. I’ve set my settings on the camera to hdv and my fcp is set to hdv 1080i60 into an apple proress 1080i60 timeline.

    I need help. Please.

Is that the color red you want to use?

FCP will know and tell you everything about your footage from that camera captured via FireWire. Just look through the info in the browser, you will see the frame rate, size, everything about the clips. Doesn’t matter if you have different settings on one tape, it will capture them all the right way.

Play the tape, check the viewfinder and it should display the flavour of HDV.

I think you need a capture card to go into a ProRes sequence. Firewire will only bring in the HDV mpeg so the sequence must match that for capture.

If you have a capture card then use the HD SDI output. Firewire can be used for machine control.
