Xeon speed V.S. Avid specs
ok…. I’ll buy a new system.. becouse of the non well documented issues of the AMD processors with Avid, I decided going with intel Xeons.
The question is:
In the Avid Xpress Pro HD the minimum speed specs for a Xeon is 2.4. is this is a dead or live issue, there is no Xeons running at that speed, only 2.0 2.33 and 2.6 (woodcrest family) the 2.6 is a lot more expensive than a 2.33 or 2.0
I’m trying to get the best money – performance. first I thought about 2 Xeons at 2.0, shall go with the Avid specs (this is only 1 xeon 2.6, onley 1 becouse of the money)
any recomendation or expirience will be very very apreciated
on a second thought… may be is better to have a faster core 2 duo than 1 not so fast Xeon… what do you think??
