Frustrated trying to convert XDCAM /XDROOT structure files. Need to supply Pro Res of XDCam sources files to FCP 7 editors.

    – FCP 7 Log and Transfer doesn’t see any clips (even with plugin).
    – Tried XDCAM Transfer 2.13 – it doesn’t see any clips.
    – Bought and tried Content Browser – it sees the files, but can’t export them for final cut without throwing an error.
    – Premiere Pro CC sees the files and I suppose I could import there, and stringout, but would prefer direct individual conversions.

Am thinking maybe Adobe Media Encoder or Red Giant Grinder?

There really are no polite words for how I feel about Sony right now — none of their alleged “tools” functions. I guess I could cut in Sony Vegas Movie Studio.

Adobe Media Encoder should work nicely for this task. If you need to concatenate the clips however you will need to start in either Premiere or Prelude.

Thanks – I think there’s something wrong with the core files, directory, or xml.

Media Encoder 5.5 couldn’t see them, Media Encoder 6 could see them, but crashed on encode.

Will try to recopy source directories later and see if the problem lies there.
