We use the XD HDCam for all of our shoots. We are currently using the Sony XD Transfer app to import footage into FCP. This brings the footage in as XDCAM 1440×1080. Does anyone know of a way to do this and have the footage be ProRes 422(HQ)?

The only way we know to do this so far is to make the footage offline and delete the media and then rebatch at ProRes. Is there a better solution?

    Thanks.

Yes, work as you have been and work in an XDCam sequence, but set your renders to ProRes in the sequence settings. That way all of your renders will be ProRes. By the time you are done with the project you will probably have some sort of filter or move on your footage so in essence, your timeline will be ProRes.
