  XDcam workflow on FCP

  Hi all,

  I recently was asked to produce a live event involving 3 cameras all shooting in xdcam hd (HQ). AT first I was all excited about doing the proxy editing and then highrezing everything until I realized FCP doesn’t like that. Now I’m scrambling to find the best workflow to get this project out as it’s also got a quick turnaround.

  The main stumbling points are:

  1 – XDCAM HD footage
  2 – 4 Stream multicam editing (3 XDcam 1 Go Pro)
  3 – Announcers are being recorded after the cut using the VO tool
  4 – Output to XDcam hd via a PDW-U1 2 hour show

  I am also planning on buying a caldigit vr2 or mini just for this project as I will be doing a few more this year but will it be able to handle the 4 Streams of HD video?
