XDCAM Transfer tool 2.12
So I donwloaded 2.12 of the Sony Transfer Tool today on my Snow Leopard MacBook Pro. Everything works fine but I was under the impression that part of the reason for the update was to enable write back to a pro disk through the PDW-U1. That is not the case. I still have only “read access” and no write back. Anyone else in the same boat. My issue is I need to deliver my final project via XDCAM disk to its play back source.

You need to install the XDCAM Drive Software. You can get it from here:
https://support.sonybiz.ca/esupport/eSupportHome.asp
Make sure you get version 2.3 if you are using Snow Leopard.
Once you have installed this, the file structure of your discs mounted from the PDW-U1 will look very different when opened in Finder and they will be writable.
