    Yes…

You’re right. Quicktime does offer timecode support now. BUT, I think that most users are looking for a heads up display just like the decks with character output.

I think that would be a great feature to have in the software, along with the ability to output proxy files with this info embedded on the video track, not just in it but on it. This is what I think that Proper Modulation was speaking of.

Well…. I see it this way.

2.0 didn’t work very well at all. If you check Sony’s website, you’ll see that the full released version is 2.1. And this very issue that people are seeing has been fixed, at least from what I have witnessed on our systems.

I am running 2.1.0 version at the moment, thats not doing it either.

I will try a fresh start and see if it makes a difference.
Anyone also having this problem still under 2.1.0

    thanks

    Roger

I have the same issue. Attempts to rename the disc result in an “Invalid Source Name” message. I’m then told the name has to be smaller than 32 bytes, no matter what I try to rename it.

Also, the disc does not appear in the Finder, so I can’t rename it there as the white paper suggests.

    I’m also running version 2.1.0, on a G5 Powermac.

if you are running 10.5 (Leopard) then you need to upgrade to XDCAM Transfer 2.5.1 … then you’ll get the disc back in the Finder

Thanks, Andy, that’s done the trick!
