XDCAM to AVI question
I am shooting in XDCAM HD format. The client who is going to edit the video has asked me to provide the footage in AVI format. He is using Adobe Premiere. I am a mac person with Final Cut and can’t figure out how to make the conversion from XCDAM to AVI. I’ve tried loading XDCAM browsing software onto my pc but still can’t figure out if there’s a way for me to convert the raw footage to AVI without actually owning Adobe Premiere. I tried exporting from FCP on my mac to AVI format but a mere 30 seconds was 190 megs. I’ll probably have hours of footage.
Anyone out there know of a way?

I just found your post via a google search. I too edit on a Mac (FCP for now) and have to deliver footage to someone who is using SD Liquid Chrome (.avi files) on a PC.
Did you ever find a solution?
