    When i set my sequence to a XDCAM1080p30 35 VBR preset, then import footage shot to the same settings. I get message that the footage doesnt match the sequence settings. When i change the sequence to match the footage everything looks fine.

    But im wondering why have a preset if it doesnt match the footage it is preset for, seems to defeat the purpose?

    Hi Anthony,there are three different XDCAM flavors;
    – XDCAM HD.
    – XDCAM EX .
    – XDCAM HD 422
    Reading through your posts, I saw that you where working with some EX-3 footage.
    Your preset shouldn’t be XDCAM, but EX.
    Both differs in the size and pixels: XDCAM is 1440×1080 HD pixels, while EX is 1920×1080 Square pixels.

    Hi Anthony,
    I don’t remember where the EX presets come from.
    Is possible that you needs to install the SONY Transfer tool.
    You get a plugin installed in FC so you can Log&Transfer and you can “Export to XDCAM”.
    I think that is when you get the Easy Presets installed too.
    If you are unable to get them, post me and I can send them to you.
    There are 10 documents and only 4KB each.
    Cheers,
