  xdcam plugin not seeing FCP

  First time posting. I recently purchased a powermac system with studio 2 on it, only to find out it is not licensed. I was trying to add the xdcam plug-in and it keeps telling me my fcp is not recent enough and will not load the plug-in. I’m running 6.0.3 and the directions say that will work. Is it the fact that it is unlicensed, or is there another issue?
