XDCAM Log and transfer
Hello,
I’m sure I was shown that Sony XDCAM footage could be imported into Final Cut from XDCAM SxS cards using Log and Transfer. But Final Cut no longer seems to recognise the footage on the cards.
We normally import via the Sony XDCAM Transfer software. This still works fine.
We are trying to streamline the ingestion of our footage using one method – Log and Transfer, hence the query.
I remember trying Log and Transfer with XDCAM after seeing it done that way at a conference, but that I think was in Final Cut 5. Does it need new drivers or a plug-in to be reinstalled now we’re on Final Cut 6.0.5?

Calibrated software now makes a plugin that allows direct FCP editing of the native XDCAM EX .mp4 files from the SXS Pro memory card. This method bypasses the log and transfer step.
