  • XDCAM Log and Transfer Software

I’m attempting to Log and Transfer from XDCAM HD BluRay Disk with XDCAM_Drive_Software_V221_Mac I downloaded from Sony site. The camera detects my computer but my computer only sees 2 folders, 1 is labeled Untitled DVD 2 the other Untitled DVD. The log and transfer does not see the XDCAM or any clips.

I tried to download Sony PDZ-KP1 Version 2.7 log and transfer software, https://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/micro-xdcamexsite/resource.downloads.bbsccms-assets-micro-xdcamex-downloads-NLEEditingFileTransfers.shtml, but when I select download a white screen appears and nothing happens.

Am I using the correct software, and if I need the later is it available anywhere else. If I need to delete uninstall the software how do I do that.

Version 2.11.0 says it does not support Snow Leopard. I’ve tried my intel machines. desktop and laptop, and my older G5 system and neither work with FCP Log and Transfer.

I finally figured to use my older G5 loaded with FCP 6, I updated to current software versions, and I downloaded XDCAM Transfer 2.11.0 to transfer. The Import menu displays XDCAM and I can import footage this way and it converts the files to quicktime and places clip in a bin. I sneaker net portable drive between the older G5 and newer Intel.

For whatever reason this is the necessary work around. Why can’t I see the clips in Log and Transfer window. Am I getting the best results doing it this way.

I think you might be confusing Sony’s XDCAM Transfer app and FCP’s Log and Transfer interface. Sony/Apple do not support the use of FCP’s Log and Transfer window for the import of XDCAM HD (XDCAM EX yes, XDCAM HD no). Sony’s XDCAM Transfer app v2.11 is, on the whole, compatible with Snow Leopard, although now you may need to install the FAM driver from an earlier version (2.5.1), which you can get here: https://www.sony.ca/xdcamex/software.htm
