    Hello There –

I’m hoping someone might be able to steer me in the right direction here.

I received my files and they are in the XDCAM HD422 1080p24 codec. My mixer wants them in Pro Res.
I”ve tried exporting these files to Prores 422 a number of times and I keep getting the same timecode drift when comparing the two files in QT7 and comparing my TC burn in on the pro res file. The two pops and first frame of picture are spot on but shortly into the reel my XDCAM file will hang on a frame longer on the shot than the Pro Res version and by the end of the reel it’s about a second difference. The clips are the same length though and when I bring them into final cut all matches up and looks well.

    Any Ideas on the issue?

    thanks in advance.

    Thanks for replying Dave.
I double checked source files, exports, sequence settings, export settings, I’ve got everything at 23.98.

When I bring the Pro res export back into final cut and split screen it with the XDcam everything lines up perfectly, I’m wondering if it’s a QT7 issues?

This sounds like a task for the Media Manager to me. You converting externally?

[Dave LaRonde] “Tell you what: Send the file but also send along the precise timing from FCP of what it SHOULD be. If it matches, you’re good and you haven’t lost any time.”
    As Dave says.
If they work OK in FC, don’t worry about QT Player.
