XDCAM HD Codec on Windows AE?
Greetings,
Could u be so kind and help me resolve this problem?
Client wants me to render his animation encoded with “XDCAM HD” codecSpecifications:
QuickTime „ .mov ” with audio
XDCAM HD (50Mbit/s) 4:2:2 (PAL HD 1080i)
25fps 1920 x 1080
Interlace, upper…
loudness -23LUFS (rec EBU R128/ITU BS.1770)
audio (stereo) – 48 kHz, 16 bitówIt’s for TV advertisement
I have mo idea whats this :/
I tried to find out what is XDCAM codec and i cant find strict answer.
Is it only for software Mac? or Final Cut? or only Sonys camcoders save files by this codec?I work with AE and Premiere (Creative Cloud) and can’t find soultion to encode movie by above specifications.
Can anyone tell me what should i do with that?
Maybe I should just render movie with MOV with settings like “DVCPRO HD 1080i50” ?Sorry for my english and thanks for your time.

XDCAM is a specific implementation of the MPEG-2 codec. Do not render DVCPRO, it’s a completely different compression scheme.
Select MXF OP1a as your export container. You can then select XDCAM as your export codec. You will need to rewrap from MXF to the MOV container using a program like FFMBC.
It’s a commandline utility, so rewrapping will look like
ffmbc -i input.mxf -vcodec copy -acodec copy output.mov
