XDCAM HD Blurry
Hello all, I have some footage shoot on sony XDCAM HD 35mbs, imported into avid with a U1 card reader. It is 1080 30p, when I use the footage in SD comps in AE and output for broadcast the image appears soft, motion from the subject and quick camera seems to cause it grief as well.
Basically I need to get the best possible SD master made from my HD source material.
Am I missing a step or am I not converting the footage properly.
I am making a 720×486 comp in AE and resizing my HD footage down for 4:3 SD delivery

As long as you are rendering uncompressed I don’t think it’s you comps. Double check Avi’d import settings to ensure you are bringing them in uncompressed and not not resizing them upon import.
