XDCAM EX1 24p sync issue
I shot a graduation video this weekend with the XDCAM EX1 720/24p setting. I’ve copied it over to my hard drive, created an XDCAM EX 720p timeline, place the footage on the timeline, press play and it starts being noticeably out of sync in about 3 seconds.
I’ve even tried making a different frame-rate timeline then allowing premiere to “change the settings to match the video” to make sure I did it right, but with the same results.
According to the Premiere timeline setting, it’s actually 23.976.What gives? Will this be a bloody nightmare? I usually shoot 30p, but decided to shoot 24p to make it look more “filmic”. Shoot me now. HELP!

Relax, probably just machine lagging. Export a portion to a .h264 .mp4 file and play it back outside Pr.

The problem isn’t outside Premiere, it’s inside Premiere! I just played the raw clip outside premiere with VLC with no issues

Precisely my point. You do not have a sync issue.

OK then. How the heck do I fix it in Premiere? I’ve got an hour and a half multicam program I need to edit. Don’t really want to be stopping every 10 seconds to re-sync in my monitor so I know when to switch cameras.

I just fixed it. I turned off my AJA Kona card and it played fine on the desktop. I started tinkering around with playback settings on the card, changed it to 1080p/23.98 (there was no matching frame rate option in 720) and it plays fine now.
