I’m hoping some of you have also been going through some traumas with workflow for the XDCam EX files.

I thought i had solved it but have run into some issues, which i’m hoping you all might be able to help me with.

We have multiple PC (dell) systems here, running production premium CS3 and CS4. We have shot footage on the EX3 camera and I am trying to create a workflow that improves our current one of extracting and renaming all the MP4 clips before bringing them into premiere.

I want to avoid disrupting the BPAV folder structure and only bring good takes into premiere, as i’ve found that having hundreds of these mp4s makes premiere load very slowly.

I had planned to use Sony Clip Browser (SCB) to view the rushes, mark good takes, rename the clips and copy those clips into a new ‘good takes’ folder (whilst still in SCB) before bringing that new BPAV folder into premiere.

I tried this at home, worked like a dream in both CS3 and CS4 – came in with new naming but it wont read the ‘good’ clip marks from SCB… no great loss as i’m only bringin g in good takes.

Problem : Tried the same thing at work and premiere wont read the new clip names from SCB! its infuriating! i’m running fully updated CS3 3.2.0 in both places, both running same versions of SCB but at work Premiere brings in originally named MP4 and XML files and at home I just get a single MP4 with the name i assigned in SCB…. any ideas??
