What is the best way to bring in EX1 files to MC5? I am trying out the trial software, and the video seems to be much noisier and of lower quality than when viewed in Sony Clip Browser, or within a FCP EX timeline. Also lower than Media 100 Suite 1.5.1 in ProRes 422HQ. I have tried it as AMA and transcoding as Avid 145 and 220 and it still noisy and soft when compared to the original. Am I missing a setting or possibly importing incorrectly? I am viewing all on a LaCie 324 high quality monitor in computer mode, but the difference is still obvious. My Kona card will of course not work with the Avid for true video display. The footage looks great out of the Kona in FCP in HD mode.

is your timeline setting set to something other than green/green for the performance/quality?

Thanks! That was the setting I was looking for. It has been a while since I’ve used a Media Composer.

But i have another question for another thread now regarding the DNxHD compression quality.
