I was hoping that there is a way to aviod XDCAM EX Noise when made into DVCPRO HD (via SDI out thru KONA LHe.) Using Pro res seems to look pretty good but Id rather stay in DCPRO HD codec because the buljkof my media is gathered with a HDX900.
    Thanks,
    Matt

You should capture your DVCPRo HD to ProRes too.

thats not just theEX’s noise pattern, It is inherent in most DVCPROHD footage- capture via HDSDI or comp will help your capture, but this is one of the reasons that ProRes works so well as an intermediate codec- DVCPROHD was designed as an internal camera codec and Panny does an excellent job of being able to process the footage in their hardware – but handling other mfg’s footage in DVCPROHD often compounds the native camera noise.
