    Hi,

I’m encountering severe problems editing XDCAM EX footage. This almost always occurs when scrubbing up or down a timeline and only seems to happen when my multibridge pro is set to output video. The display will pause with the spinning beachball then FCP just disappears and I get the ‘unexpectedly quit’ warning. I’ve tried different drivers but this hasn’t made a difference so I’m back on 7.81.

    I have a MacPro 8×2.8Ghz with 8GB Ram, OSX 10.6.5 and FCP 7.03

I’ve tried running everything in ProRes timelines and turning off thumbnails. With rendered material (to Pro Res) things seem reasonably stable, it’s when FCP is looking at the EX codec that things go wrong but doesn’t happen when the MB is either switched off or not outputting. This would suggest some kind of driver/communication issue between FCP and the hardware.

    Can anyone help?

    Many thanks,
    Rob
