XDCAM EX import problem – camera assistant coppied only the folders containing the video files
Hi,
I got some footage I’m supposed to work with, but the camera assistant only copied the folders with the video files off of the sxs card on to a drive. The sony transfer can’t recognize this as xdcam footage, as the file structure of the sxs card and whatever information is contained in the XML files is gone. I tried copying the XML files off of another sxs card, so to make the folder look like a sxs card. This results in the transfer software recognizing the folder, but all of the clips say “no codec” on them and I can’t import them.
I also tried using vegas (which can read and edit these files) to export to MXF files. But I can’t find a way to do anything with these files either- not even VLC player can read them (which usually can do everything!)
I’m running FCP 7. ultimatly, I need to get this footage to prores. Any help out there?Liam

It could open+playback the nativ mxf-file within quicktime.

Hi Liam,
If you have the MP4 files, you can use the SONY Clip Browser to rebuild a BVAP folder.
Then use the Transfer Tool.
