    Hi all.

I have searched high and low and tried everything to get this to work….

I have recorded some footage using the Sony XDCAM EX and have copied it from the SxS card to my hard drive. Upon playback of the MPG4, I get an error stating, “Error – 2010: the movie contains some invalid data(filename.MP4).”

I have tried importing the same file into Premier Pro 3.2.0 and receive “Unsupported format or damaged file.”

I have used the Sony Clip browser to export the file into a .MXF and receive “Unsupported format is specified.”

The only way I can work with the file is importing it directly from the card into Premier Pro. Problem is, I don’t want to have to work off the card esp when Premier Pro is going to ask for the file if I don’t have it in or connected to my computer.

Please help, thanks in advance. 🙂

Are you copying the root folder from the card to the hard drive without changing anything?

Yes, I am copying the entire BPAV folder from the card to my hard drive.

Make sure you are using the Clip Browser to copy the files from the SxS card to your hard drive, rather than the computer’s file manager. Don’t convert to MXF. Don’t change any of the file or directory names.

Is the problem solved? Because I have the same problem.

No, I have been unable to resolve it. I used the camera last week and had to import the footage straight from the camera becuase copying it to the hard drive was unsuccessful.

I´ve de same problem but i could solve it. (first im sorry about my poor english is not my natural language)

I´ve 2 memories. I copy the first memory, the BPAV folder entirely. And the second memory only the clips folders into CLPR directory in the directory that i´ve created in the first memory in my hard drive.

I make this in one computer and a i have not problem importing the mp4 archive into premiere cs3 3.2.

But the problem was in other computer. I give the same steps but premiere says unsuported format…. etc. i could read the first memory archives but not the second because i dont copy the entire BPAV folder. But the difference was that the second computer has not installed the software from sony XDCAM EX ClipBrowser. It´s free. I installed the software on the second pc and i open the folder with this software, only open not recompress, i could import all de mp4 archives into premiere cs3. That works for me.

Again, sorry about mi poor english and good luck for all.
